GOFAST — High-Speed Object Over Ocean
Atlantic Ocean, off the U.S. East Coast
Summary
Navy FLIR footage showing a small object moving at high speed low over the ocean surface with no visible propulsion or wings. Pilots express excitement at the object's speed.
Background
Captured during the same period as the GIMBAL video, GOFAST shows a different object recorded by Navy pilots during training exercises off the East Coast.
The Video
The infrared footage shows a small, apparently cool object (dark against the ocean in IR) moving rapidly. The pilots can be heard exclaiming “Wooo!” and “What the f*** is that thing?” as they track it.
Analysis
This is the most debated of the three Pentagon-released videos:
- Some analysts argue the apparent speed is a parallax illusion caused by the jet’s own movement
- The object may be at lower altitude than initially assumed, making its actual speed more modest
- However, the object shows no thermal signature (no engine heat) which remains unexplained regardless of speed
Significance
Part of the trio of videos (FLIR1, GIMBAL, GOFAST) released by the Pentagon that confirmed the U.S. government takes UAP seriously. Even if the speed is debatable, the lack of propulsion signature remains anomalous.
